The Sok Sapbaay video series was created by the
Public Relations Team in Phnom Penh. I was lucky enough to get
hold of all five of them on VHS tape prior to leaving country.
My tape is now over 14 years and is starting
to wear very thin. Luckily I converted the majority of the music
videos to digital a few years back. The qualiy still isn't the
best but it is better than nothing.
I bumped into Wayne Ryan (UNTAC PR cameraman)
in Darwin around 2003 and asked him if it was OK if I converted
the videos and charged a small fee for it. He told me that the
video would be owned by Defence as they were his employer at the
time. I contacted Defence PR and they have no record of the videos
ever being produced.
I emailed Wayne at work and asked where I should go from here.
He mentioned that there could be an issue with the music that was
used in the videos. This is why the distrubution in Cambodia had
been very limited and people were told not to distribute copies
beyond personal use.
To this end - I have copies of the music videos on the web and
can provide them to you.
The only provisions I have is that :
- the videos are for personal
use only
- you send me some digital photos of yourself
in Cambodia and now - for my people page.
- you write a couple of sentences on what you
are up to now - for my people page.
- send me your email address (will not be published)
- play the videos with no sound...!
