William
Maclean
"Maca"
Maca was a Communications Detachment Commander with 2 Sig Sqn
at Siem Reap, Thbeng Meanchey and Sisaphon Sig Troops in Cambodia.
Here is what he has been up too since Cambodia.

I continued to serve in the Royal
Australian Signals Corps as a Communications Supervisor and subsequently
as a Manager Information Systems particularly within Special Forces
at 152 Signal Squadron.
I have ventured on other deployments
since my return from UNTAC. These include INTERFET in East Timor
in 1999/2000 and to the Middle East in 2001 and again in 2003.
I
discharged from the Army in Perth on Sunday the 14th March 2004 after 24 years
of service in uniform and than on Monday the 15th March 2004 I
started work in civilians at the same location as a Defence Contractor providing
IS Support to the in-barracks networks.
I later worked for the Australian
Public Service at the same location as the Team Leader and resigned
on the 7th March 2007 and I have just recently started work as
an IT Consultant with
in
West Perth.
I have three children who keep me very busy as a part time taxi
driver and as a full time father and when I do have some spare
time I like to watch the mighty “Brisbane
Lions” or spending time with my wife Claire.
Cambodia was one of the many great experiences I have had during
my Army career. I
hope to hear from some of you UNTAC Vet’s in the near future through the
medium of this web site.
